  • Rajasthan royalty knew how to pick their resting spots 😊 The first thing that hits you when you enter Gatore ki Chhatriyan in Jaipur is how QUIET it is. It's silent, not eerily so, but reflecting a sense of calm. This is in stark contrast to the rest of Jaipur, where frankly, it's difficult to find a moment of peace or find a single road where vehicles aren't abusing their horns. Not here. It's quiet here. Which, if you think about it, is what you'd want for a final resting place, right? Gatore ki Chhatriyan is where the royals of Rajasthan would come to cremate their dead. There are intricately built cenotaphs all around the complex which mark where previous royals were cremated, and they're all covered with an ornate dome - a 'chhatri'. I was reminded of Jaswanth Thada in Jodhpur, which is also built for similar purposes. Both structures are beautifully designed, with intricate carvings and depictions all over marble and sandstone cenotaphs. Both stand out as stunning works of architecture - Rajput, with Mughal influences. Both are magnificent to look at and both feel very, very peaceful. It's located in Nahargarh valley and as of now, isn't as crowded as other tourist locations in Jaipur.   • Channelling my inner Anarkali in an anarkali💃🏻 Here’s a tip if you want to get photos at Patrika Gate - get here EARLY. Like 7:30 AM early. There’s no entry fee or opening time, but the earlier you get here, the better because this is a VERY popular destination for pre-wedding shoots. And of course, creators like us 🤪 It’s also located a little outside the city, closer to the airport, so try to plan your time well. You’ll also end up seeing a lot of folks getting their morning workouts in at Jawahar Circle Garden, which is basically what the gate opens to 😅 Patrika gate reflects architectural styles from all parts of Rajasthan in one single, imposing structure. That’s pretty cool, right? Check out the murals - they’re all depictions from Jaipur’s history, beautifully created on the walls here.   • One refrain I’ve been telling myself over the past few days, weeks, months, years - you’re strong, you’re more than just your skin, and you can never give up your space ♥️ I know I’ll never fit into conventional standards of ‘beauty’. But maybe someday, we’ll get to a point where differences are accepted and we can celebrate the beauty that lies within us instead.   • What do you love about the cold? You know what I love about it? The created warmth 😍 Think about it. Snuggling inside thick, warm comforters. Sipping a cup of hot chocolate next to a fire. Warm, cuddly sweaters. Cute, fuzzy socks. Warming your hands in front of a heater. The feel of hot (read scalding) water touching your skin and the comforting contrast of it with the cold outside all of the steam that wraps you up. Mmmm. Got all of this and more during my stay at @nibaanaresort . The created warmth in the middle of the mountains, paired with expansive views and gorgeous sunsets, served with a side of great food made for a very welcome escape. I usually like my travels to be action packed - a lot of exploring and hiking, doing lots in a day. But this time, I got to take two days off and just... be. You could head here for a quiet weekend away with your partner, a fun vacation with family, or even a corporate retreat. It’s disconnected from the crowded areas and markets, but if you want to get to the main city, it’s easy to commute if you have your own vehicle. If not, you can always have a cab arranged! Imagine waking up to this view every morning of your vacation. Sigh. Dreamy, right? 😍
